About MCA

MCA - three years degree course is offered by Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. YCMOU established in July 1989 by the Act XX-(1989) of the Maharashtra State Legislature. MCA degree is recognized all over india and abroad for job, higher education & competitive exams like MPSC/UPSC.

Eligibility for FY MCA Admission

  • Any Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 (three) year duration from a recognized University AND Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subject at 10+2 level or graduation level. Learners who took admission into MCA and did not have mathematics/statistics at 10+2 level or at graduate level have to do D125 Certificate course in Mathematics. They are advice to do it along with first year of MCA programme. However all such learners have to successfully complete D125 (if applicable) before taking admission to Third year of MCA.

Eligibility For Direct SY MCA Admission

  • Any Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Equivalent (like B.C.A. / B.Sc. (Computer Science / Information Technology)/ B.E. (Computer Science/ Information Technology) / B.Tech (Computer Science/ Information Technology)) is eligible for Direct Second Year of MCA Programme.

Course Fees & Duration

    Stundent has to pay one time fee as per YCMOU rule. Course Fees includes:
  • One time exam fees.

  • PDF Books from YCMOU.

  • Degree Duration:

    3 Years (6 Semester).

Examination

  • Examination (Semester I / III / V) : December & January

  • Examination (Semester II / IV / VI) : May & June

  • Project End Examination (Semester VI) : May

Admission / Registration Validity

The registration to the programme MCA will be valid for a period of 5 (Five) academics year including the year of registering for the first year. The student should complete MCA successfully within the said period. After the expiry of the valid registration period, the student should re-register i.e. take fresh admission to the programme by paying to the University, the fees specified in the Prospectus (provided the University continues to offer the programmes at that time). All the rules and regulations, which exist at the time of re-registration, will apply to the student.
